Zodiac was opened in late 2018 by the Pleasure art, fashion and music collective in a space on Jalan Senopati originally built as a car park. The room is small and loud in look: bright red walls, leopard-print seating and disco balls. The founders planned it as a music bar on weeknights and a small club at weekends.
Since then it has become one of Jakarta's most respected small dance rooms. It is listed on Resident Advisor and books techno, disco, afrobeats and leftfield selectors, with regular nights such as It's House and Koba & Friends, plus guests from abroad.
Cover is cheap and there is no dress code, which keeps the crowd creative and mixed rather than bottle-service. Weeknights are mellow; Fridays and Saturdays run late. Best for music-first clubbers who prefer a tight, sweaty room to a superclub.
Line-ups and door prices shift weekly; a club's Instagram is usually the most current source.

Big night planned? Tables at the busier clubs go early on Fridays and Saturdays.
