Sugar Club plays hip-hop every night of the week, which makes it the go-to room in Bangkok for rap, R&B and trap rather than EDM. It is on Sukhumvit Soi 11, a few minutes' walk from BTS Nana.
Themed nights run through the week, with names such as What's Poppin Thursdays, Clique Fridays and Shake Sumn Sundays, plus twerk battles and guest DJs. Resident DJ Noize releases a monthly Sugar Specials mix. The club has a history of booking international hip-hop artists alongside local DJs.
The crowd is a lively mix of Thais, expats and visitors. Table service is available, but plenty of people come just to dance. Doors open at 10pm daily. Flip-flops, vests and tank tops are not allowed. The booking phone line opens from 1pm.
Line-ups and door prices shift weekly; a club's Instagram is usually the most current source.
