Over & Above

Over & Above is a converted industrial space on Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, beside Masjid Jamek LRT on the Chinatown edge of the old city. The main room is a high-ceilinged warehouse with sculptural laser and lighting rigs, and a second space, the Liquid Room, hosts smaller parties.

Techno is the backbone: residents TCHUNO and Mr Yang play techno, hard techno and hardstyle, and the club has booked names such as Jeff Mills and Angerfist. Other concept nights cover melodic, hip-hop, Afro, drum & bass, baile and Jersey club, each with its own lighting and look. Local guides regularly call it the city's flagship techno club.

Tickets for most events are sold on Ticketmelon, and the venue takes table enquiries by WhatsApp. It suits serious dancers and the underground crowd rather than bottle-service clubbers.
