The Back Room

The Back Room sits behind Mason restaurant at Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong 39a in Canggu. You walk through the restaurant and down into a dark, fully air-conditioned room with a long bar, leather booths, a pool table, Persian rugs and framed prints on the walls. It feels more like a city basement bar than a Bali venue, which is much of its appeal.

On club nights it runs as one of Canggu's main spots for underground electronic music. Promoters such as Dunia, COSMOS, Wiweka and trommel. book house, tech house, progressive, minimal and deeper electronic sets, with Bali residents alongside international guests. Nights usually start at 10pm and run until about 3am.

Event nights are ticketed through Megatix and Resident Advisor, with prices roughly IDR 65,000 to 125,000 depending on the line-up, and some nights offer a free guest list. Entry is 18+. Check the venue's Instagram for the week's programme before heading over.
